Asian stab binding
OAB Definition
book made of double leaves bound with paper twists and stab binding. Often called the Japanese stab binding, this binding was developed in China and was the dominant book form in East Asia for centuries.
Many decorative variations of this binding exist, including asa-no-ha-toji, kikko-toji, and the Kangxi binding.
