commercial paper
OAB Definition
broad category of paper that is produced at a very large scale and/or is used for commercial print purposes such as offset or digital. Commercial paper is typically uniform in thickness and has a hard surface relative to most handmade and fine art papers, but a great deal of variation exists. Weight is typically referred to as cover or text in conjunction with a physical weight measured in pounds, which refers to the weight per ream of 500 sheets.
The term is often used in art and letterpress contexts to contrast with fine art papers.
