OAB Definition
scroll of multiple leaves, usually of graduated length, bound at one edge and rolled as a unit. When the leaves are unrolled, the leading edges curl up, reminiscent of scales or turbulent wind. Sometimes the visible edges of the pages contain an image, spread out across many pages. Modern book artists have applied this technique and term to non-scroll formats.
