erasure
OAB Definition
the act of removing some content, often writing, recorded material, or data.
As an artistic strategy, erasure is the reduction of a text by incision, crossing-out, or erasing some or most of the original text. The new text, referred to as an erasure, is sometimes a commentary on the original text, but may be thematically unrelated.
