gelatin print

OAB Definition

image that is pulled from a slab of gelatin or synthetic gelatin that has been inked, painted, or otherwise treated with a transferable medium. Most of the applied media will transfer from plate to print in one pull, so gelatin prints are typically considered monoprints (link). The process was likely adapted from hectography (link).

Note that gelatin silver prints, a black and white photographic process, are sometimes called gelatin prints.
