tetsuyoso
OAB Definition
East Asian, multi-section, across-the-spine binding. It is sewn with one needle, has slits for sewing stations, and spans sections without link stitches. It is also sewn through the fold, which is unusual for East Asian bindings. Developed in China (possibly as early as the Tang dynasty), but used much more widely in Japan.
